Abstract: We report a case of massive colonic hemorrhage after renal biopsy managed by renal artery embolization combined with exploratory laparotomy. Clinicians must be alert for such rare anatomical abnormalities as ectopic colon behind the kidney and the risk of colonic hemorrhage following renal biopsy. In this case, artery embolization combined with exploratory laparotomy successfully and quickly stopped the bleeding and avoided possible organ resection.
